What Is a Certified Pre-Owned Volkswagen?

The Question Most Buyers Forget to Ask

One piece that rarely comes up in other CPO comparisons: what happens to the remaining factory warranty on a CPO vehicle?

If a car was originally purchased new with a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty and it comes to you as a CPO with 28,000 miles on it, you still have the remaining factory powertrain coverage stacked on top of the CPO warranty. That’s not a small thing. In some cases, that remaining coverage is more substantial than the CPO warranty itself, and it’s transferable if you sell the car.
